Share of Voice (SOV)

Share of voice is your brand's portion of total conversation or visibility in a market versus competitors — across social, search, or AI answers.

Share of voice measures how much of the total conversation, visibility, or advertising in your category belongs to your brand versus competitors. Once an advertising and PR metric, it now spans social mentions, search visibility, and how often AI answer engines cite your brand versus rivals. A rising share of voice typically precedes a rising share of market.

Tracking SOV tells you whether your brand is winning the attention battle, not just running campaigns. A coordinated creator program lifts social share of voice quickly; topical authority lifts your share of search and AI citations. Gigde grows share of voice across all of these — creators, content, and answer-engine optimization — so your brand becomes the default reference in its category.
