Engagement Rate

Engagement rate is the percentage of an audience that actively interacts with content — likes, comments, shares, saves — and a key signal of an influencer's real influence.

Engagement rate measures how actively an audience interacts with a creator's content, calculated as total engagements (likes, comments, shares, saves) divided by followers or reach, expressed as a percentage. It is a far better signal of real influence than follower count, because it reveals whether an audience is paying attention or merely subscribed. A creator with 20,000 deeply engaged followers can drive more action than one with a million passive ones.

When vetting influencers, engagement rate helps separate genuine influence from inflated or purchased followings. Healthy, niche-relevant engagement predicts how well a recommendation will convert; suspiciously low engagement on a large account is a red flag for bought followers. It is one of the first metrics to check before any partnership. Gigde vets every creator on engagement quality, not just size, so campaign budgets back audiences that actually respond.
