FTC Disclosure

A clear, conspicuous statement that influencer content is paid or sponsored, required by US advertising rules.

An FTC disclosure is a clear and conspicuous statement that a piece of influencer content is sponsored, gifted, or otherwise materially connected to a brand. Under US Federal Trade Commission guidelines, anyone endorsing a product they were paid or incentivized to promote must disclose that relationship so audiences are not misled. Disclosures must be hard to miss, in plain language like ad or sponsored, placed before the fold, and not buried in hashtags or behind a more link. The rules apply to the brand as well as the creator, so advertisers share responsibility for compliant disclosure.

Gigde builds FTC-compliant disclosure requirements into every creator brief and contract, protecting both you and the creators across our Influencer Marketing programs. We specify approved disclosure language and placement, review content before it goes live, and document compliance so your campaigns meet US advertising rules. This reduces legal and reputational risk while keeping audience trust intact, which protects long-term performance. For compliant, properly disclosed influencer campaigns, see /services/influencer-marketing or email contact@gigde.com.
